Right now! Not when you're "better", not when you've lost weight, not when you have a partner or a job or 1000 followers; now!
Life is short and we're on the most extreme rollercoaster ride there is! It's natural for there to be highs, lows, scary twists and exhilarating turns. Let's share it all!
Society is finally recognising mental health is equally as important as physical health and that the two can be/are intricately connected. Living with a mental illness/es can be a ginormous challenge (to say the least), it can impact every aspect of your life and often in an intensely negative way BUT my 20+ year relationship with mental illness has taught me it doesn’t have to be that way. There are always positives in any negative, there’s always light to be found in the dark and there's always power where there's passivity. Knowledge is power and this section is full of it!
You've probably heard the saying "you can't pour from an empty cup" and it's true! If you don't care for yourself, if you don't take steps to recharge your battery and nourish your mind, body and spirit, it will have a profound impact on the way you experience the world, how you're able to enjoy it and what you have to offer it and those around you. This section is all about taking care of ourselves, let's take care of ourselves together!
It hasn’t always been seen as a positive or something to aim for but in 2017 Self-Love is not only in but it’s vital! When we’re babies we rely on the love of others to sustain us because it’s something we’re unable to provide ourselves, but as we get older that changes; we need to take more of that role on ourselves and as we do magic happens! When you love yourself you’re ensuring you always have love, you’re creating a safe, genuine, connected and deeply nourishing relationship with the person who knows you better than anyone else ever will, yourself. Not only does self-love lead to a happier, healthier, more magical experience of life but it also allows the love from others to be a beautiful bonus and leaves you so full of love that you have an abundance to share! This section is full of love, get amongst it and let’s love ourselves!
It's so easy to spend years or even a lifetime on autopilot! Going through this journey not really questioning things or checking in with yourself to see if you're living a life that makes you happy. We get one life, so why not make it one that's uniquely ours? A life that allows us to be and become our best and brightest selves? This section is all about waking up and checking in with ourselves; looking at our lives and questioning our choices, actions and beliefs! Be brave, jump in and start exploring the who, what, when, where and why's of yourself and your life; it's exciting, I promise!
We have so many of them in our lifetime! We have relationships with ourselves, family, friends, lovers and strangers! We have relationships with food, fears, our past, our phones and all kinds of other things! In 2017 we're all extremely connected and like with everything in life, there are positives and negatives to that. Relationships are unique and dynamic and they can be challenging to navigate at times, especially while struggling with a mental illness. The good thing is we're all in it together, so lets connect and explore all things relationships!
Life is meant to be enjoyed! We weren't put on earth to suffer and deny ourselves the opportunity to enjoy everything it has to offer! It doesn't matter how old you are, play will always be important! It may not come as effortlessly as when you were a child but that can change if you let it. In this section you will find different kinds of fun, helpful activities for when you need them most.
